FROM MRS. WILKINS AND MR. BURTON

Warren families,

We know this year has been an extraordinary challenge for those of you who are juggling our phase 1 schedule, partnering with us to teach your children, and managing the demands of your home and job. We appreciate your support and continued communication with your child/children’s teacher.

Even during a pandemic, kids need Halloween! Halloween is such a magical time for little people… It will not be the same as in years’ past, but our Warren ghouls, witches, warlocks, and goblins will have their day. Our Warren community will be celebrating Halloween on October 27 for our A- cohort students, and on October 30 for our B-Cohort students. DLI students will have their own opportunity which is forthcoming.

To adhere with safety regulations necessary in this C-19 environment, students will need to comply with costume requirements below. We also understand that many in our community are struggling financially. We do not want to add a fiscal burden where there need not be one! So, what will Halloween look like at Warren this year?

· Students are invited to come to school in their Halloween outfit for the day. Students may choose to wear a costume, PJ’s, Halloween clothes, or their regular clothes. Anything students wear needs to be easily navigated without adult assistance (i.e. go to the restroom independently).

· Students will not be able to wear any face paint or Halloween masks, or hats/headgear. They will still need to manage and wear their C-19 mask independently (no masks over masks).

· Students may not wear gloves or hand coverings; they will still need to be able to wash their hands. As always, costumes should be appropriately themed for an elementary school environment.

· Students are welcome, but not required, to bring individually wrapped treats for each child in their family group. Your child’s teacher will be sending home more details.

Your child’s teacher will be sending out more information with more classroom specific Halloween celebration information. It should be a good day for all!

Thank you for your thoughtfulness you have shown to ensure our Warren family stays healthy and safe!

Stay well,

Mr. Burton and Mrs. Wilkins
